Restorative Justice Seminar Series
Spring 2003

During the spring of 2003, a group of people engaged in a variety of aspects of restorative justice work met at the BRC for dialogue and support. Carolyn Boyes-Watson, Robin Casarjian, Cheryl Conner, Donna Hicks, Saroeum Phoung, Judith Thompson, Kaethe Weingarten, and Jon Wilson were joined by BRC executive director Virginia Straus, BRC president Masao Yokota, and staff members in a conversation circle designed to exchange ideas and explore connections. Each circle included an interview with two of the participants conducted by BRC publications manager Patti Marxsen and followed by feedback from the group. Carolyn Boyes-Watson worked closely with the BRC in the development of this series, agreed to the foundational interview which helped us all to orient our thoughts to the topic, served as the "keeper" of the circle, and chose the talking piece, a smooth, stone heart. The links below are our way of sharing the experience of these conversation circles with a wider audience.
